For a general pest treatment to manage the common pest problems and keep them away for many months, a general pest control treatment is the way to go. Some people call this a “pest spray”, but it’s much more than that…

Pests Covered:

Large cockroach species, spiders, ants, millipedes and earwigs.

Areas treated:

  • Outside of the building, including around doors, windows, other entry points and eaves
  • Other outdoor areas: garages, verandas, sheds, outdoor furniture, play equipment, bins, clothes lines, fence lines and letterboxes.
  • Roof void, wall voids and sub-floor (if present)
  • Every room internally – skirtings, cornices and under kitchen appliances

Products used:

  • sprays to the outside areas
  • dusts in the roof void and to the wall voids (through weepholes)
  • bait for cockroaches and ants if required.

At Geelong Pest Control our number one priority is the safety of you, your family and your pests. So, while we control pest problem, we do so in a safe manner and minimise any impact on the environment. We always carry out a risk assessment before we start a treatment and discuss whether you have any specific concerns or issues. (Check out our FAQs for more information).

If you have a serious infestation of a particular pest, it is often a better option for us to carry out a specialist pest treatment to get on top of the problem.

Although our general pest control treatment covers, Geelong Pest Control provide a range of specialist pest control treatments.

There are some other specialist pest treatments that can be included as an add-on to a general pest treatment or as a standalone treatment:

German cockroaches: German cockroaches require a specialist treatment with the use of baits and often with more than one visit (there are a lot more difficult to control than large cockroach species).

Mosquitoes: Out exterior mosquito treatment is a popular summer add (our “Platinum add-on”). We create a mosquito interception zone around the property which targets mosquitoes where their rest. This type of treatment is proven to reduce mosquito numbers by up to 90%.

Possum Removal: Geelong Pest Control can help solve your possum problem. We install a one-way door in the roof so on exiting the possum can no longer re-enter. Once the possum is out, we can carry out basic possum proofing to make sure possums don’t re-enter in the future, although sometimes we recommend using a carpenter or roofer.

What our customers say

Geelong Pest Control Service Area Google Maps
For a Pest Control Treatment
  • Clear items away from the perimeter of the building
  • Take any clothes off the line
  • Make sure we can access the roof void and sub-floor (if you have one)
  • Have a general tidy up so we can check all rooms
  • Pack away toys
  • Vacuum and mop floors
  • Close all windows
  • Have dogs & cats removed from the property or housed away from the building
  • Cover any ponds or fish tanks
  • Put away any pet bowls / food

You shouldn’t be in any areas where we are spraying, so it’s generally easier to leave the property after we have had our pre-treatment chat. Our products have little or no smell, so you can re-enter the home and yard as soon as the product has dried (generally within 2 hours of treatment).

We ask our customers to allow for a 2.5 hour vacation period for us to treat the property and allow it to dry.

Pets should be removed from the treatment areas prior to the treatment and they are not allowed to re-enter the treatment area until any spray has dried (generally within 2 hours of treatment).

Once any spray treatments have dried, people and pets can re-enter the area. To maximise the duration of protection avoid washing any treated surfaces, as the treatment will be washed away and the duration of protection will be reduced. Also,

  • Don’t mop skirting board for at least 7-10 days after treatment
  • Don’t brush down cobwebs for a week after treatment

Our treatments get to work immediately and 95% of the pest population will be eliminated within 24 hours of the treatment. It can take several weeks for all the target pest activity to cease as it can take time for hidden pests to come out and come into contact with the treated surfaces.

Although we offer a 6-month warranty, our general pest treatments can last between 9-12 months, with our customers booking a treatment once year. However, the duration is dependent on the weather.

Treatments will not last as long in areas exposed to sun and rain. With insects more likely to hide in sheltered areas (e.g., Eaves), this isn’t normally a problem.

We can’t apply the product in rain or strong winds. However, as long as the product has dried, rain after the treatment is not normally a problem.

We guarantee elimination of your pest problem and for our general pest treatment we offer a 6-month warranty on crawling pests (Large cockroach species, spiders, ants, millipedes and earwigs)

Yes, our products are chosen for their suitability for use around residential homes and pets. Once they have dried there is no risk to children and pets.

However, fish are a lot more sensitive to insecticides so we ask then any fish tanks and ponds are covered, and we will avoid spray in those areas.

There are three key actions that will make your home less attractive to a wide range of pests:

  1. Remove potential food sources: clear food spills and dirty dishes, remove uneaten petfood, keep bins well sealed.
  2. Prevent pests entering the building: ensure well-fitted insect screens and seal up potential entry points.
  3. Eliminate potential insect hiding places: remove stored goods from roof, sub-floor and perimeter of building; keep vegetation trimmed back from edge of house.
